International Expert on Maritime Health & Wellness
He is an active Medical Doctor Licensed in Norway. From 1999 he became exclusively Medical consultant and Fleet Medical Director, supervising all the ship's doctors and nurses of 9 cruise lines, under his management; in addition to the function of adviser to various national and international organizations as well as medical director for his group of companies
He served as International Expert on Maritime Health, working world wide, controlling health, Hygiene, sanitation on board commercial ships and oil platforms as well as on board passenger ships. He was an adviser and member of different working groups to the United Nations (World Health Organization, International Labor Organization and International Maritime Organization) and the Government of Norway preparing new regulations for ship’s hygiene, sanitation, pharmacy, equipments and minimum standards for medical facilities on board cruise ships, as well as the updating of the new standards for pre-employment medical examinations for seafarers. He offered as well his services to Passenger Shipping Association, European Project for ship's sanitation ( SHIPSAN TRAINET) and is serving several international maritime companies involved in all aspects of shipping, offshore and diving.
He is also a member of the medical committee of the prestigious US based International Counsel of Cruise lines ICCL ( CLIA) developing guide lines for the international cruise industry.
He served as ship’s doctor on different Luxury cruise ships and traveled worldwide from 1986 to 1991. Since 1991, he became a fleet medical adviser to Seabourn and after that to 8 other cruise lines with a fleet of more then 20 cruise ships.
