Stephen started his career in Insurance in 1977 and has worked in the UK in a variety of positions. He started as a reinsurance underwriter, became the Managing Director of a Lloyds Broker, the Managing Director of two UK Insurance companies and is now Chief Executive Officer of InterGlobal Insurance Company Ltd. (IGIC)
IGIC was formed in April 2007 to underwrite the worldwide portfolio of International Medical Insurance developed by InterGlobal since it commenced operations in 1997. IGIC specializes in the provision of Medical Insurance for expatriates and foreign nationals and provides cover in 180 countries throughout the world.
He has traveled extensively on insurance business throughout the United States, Europe, the Middle East the Far East and Australasia.
Stephen came from the General Insurance market to the Medical Insurance Market in 2004 and led a management buy-out which transformed InterGlobal from a Managing General Agent an FSA regulated Insurance Company
He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, A member of the Academy of Experts and is accredited by the Centre For Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) as a Mediator. He has acted in one or other of these capacities in a number of high profile insurance and reinsurance disputes and still has an avid interest in all aspects of dispute resolution despite his heavy work schedule at InterGlobal.
He is a keen sailor, a hobby which, he says, comes a close second to Insurance.
